4Dverse Hub and Casablanca Events, supported by the City of Port Phillip, announces an art exhibition promoting cultural diversity and showcasing Latin American values through its visual expressions. This is an invitiation to Latin American artists based in Melbourne, Victoria, to participate in the Latin American Art Exhibition 2018 (a part of the first edition of the St Kilda Latin Festival). The selection of pieces and the exhibition will be carried out in accordance with the following terms.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA This invitation is open to any Latin American artist based in Melbourne, Victoria. There are neither age restrictions, nor thematic constraints.
CATEGORIES The exhibition will include paintings, drawings, engravings, collage and multi-material works. There are no restrictions regarding the subject, technique or style.
Each artist can apply with a minimum of three artworks and a maximum of six.
Each side of the artwork should be a maximum of 80cm. (For irregular formats the same reference measurements will be taken.)
All artworks must be presented properly framed.
The presented artworks must have been made between 2016 and 2018.
PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS Artists who are interested in participating should submit their completed application form by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, as well as the required information for each artwork (listed below) and documents proofing eligibility (see “requirements for participant” listed below). The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, January 30th, 2018, at 8:00 am. The application form is accessible at the internet address: www.4dverse.com
REQUIREMENTS FOR EACH SUBMITTED ARTWORK:
A photo of the artwork.
It must be a direct, frontal and complete shot, without added brightness. Format: Image files should be in high-quality JPG Format ONLY, in full colour. Size: Image files should be no smaller than 1400 pixels on any side and be exactly 300 dpi.
Artist's last name (underscore) first name, followed by an entry number Example: Ali_Toro_1.jpg.
name of the author, title of the artwork, technique, dimensions (height x width in centimetres), year of production. In the case of engravings, plate and support measures must be included, as well as the edition number.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PARTICIPANT:

Current identity document.
Proof of temporary or permanent residence in Melbourne, Victoria.
Brief Curriculum Vitae in English and Spanish. Each language version no longer than one page and written in double space. It must specify:
date and place of birth
studies and artistic career (individual and collective exhibitions)
awards, recognitions and publications, if any.
If the name on your identification document is different from the name used to sign the artworks, it must be expressly indicated.
THE ORGANISING AND SELECTION COMMITTEE The Organising and Selection Committee is a team of artists and art professionals. They collectively have a broad range of expertise in arts, education, cultural promotion, design and museography.
The Committee will make a selection of artworks according to their principles of diversity and representativeness, as well as the quality of the artworks received and their relevance to the curatorial bases.
The authors of the selected artworks will be announced by email and by telephone between February 3rd to February 6th, 2018. At the same time, a list of their names and the title of their artworks will be published on the website of 4dverse Hub: www.4dverse.com and posted on the social networks where 4Dverse Hub promotes its activities.
The selected artworks must be delivered properly packed to 4Dverse Hub. Address: 118A Carlisle St, St Kilda, 3182.
Delivery date: From 7th – 12th February, 2018. Selected artworks that are not delivered with this deadline will be excluded from the exhibition.
Participants are responsible for the costs of packing and transporting their artworks to and from 4Dverse Hub.
RESPONSIBILITIES The Organising Committee will ensure the greatest care of the artworks in its custody. However, it will not be liable for any eventual damages suffered due to any of the following reasons:
failure of the artwork itself;
failure of its mounting systems;
breakdown due to the nature, materials or craftsmanship of the piece;
or by failed mounting instructions given by the artist, and,
damage caused during transport of the artwork to/from 4Dverse Hub.
REGISTRATION FEE The registration fee, which covers part of the organisation costs, is $40AUD. Selected artists will be required to pay this fee prior to the delivery of their artwork. See Bank Details on the Application Form.
SELLING AND COMMISSIONS The exhibited artworks can be sold as per the terms contained in the application form.
PLACE AND DATE The selected artworks will be exhibited in the gallery of 4Dverse Hub, from 23rd February 2018 at 6:00 pm (opening) to 2nd March, 2018 at 9:00 pm.
RETURNS Artworks must be collected by their artist between March 8th and 13th, 2018. Artists must contact 4Dverse Hub to arrange a time to collect their artworks by phoning 0402 528 808.
PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT By submitting the Latin American Art Exhibition 2018 Application Form artist is in full agreement with the terms and conditions of this open call as outlined in these Guidelines & Details. If you don't agree with any of the requirements stated above DO NOT submit the Application Form. The Application Form is an agreement that will be signed by both artist and 4Dverse upon the delivery of artworks. The artist accepts that his works are reproduced in printed and digital publications within the framework of this exhibition.
EVENTUALITIES Unconsidered cases in this call will be solved at the discretion of the organising committee.
